Information Theoretic Criterion Based Clu- Tter Reduction for Ground Penetrating Radar
نویسندگان
چکیده
Singular value decomposition and information theoretic criterion based clutter reduction is proposed for ground penetrating radar imaging. The scheme is capable of discriminating target, clutter and noise subspaces. Information theoretic criterion is used with conventional singular value decomposition to find the target singular values. The proposed scheme also works for extracting multiple targets in heavy cluttered images. Simulation results are compared on the basis of mean square error, peak signal to noise ratio and visual inspection.

Probabilistic Conic Mixture Model and its Applications to Mining Spatial Ground Penetrating Radar Data
This paper proposes a probabilistic conic mixture model based on a classification expectation maximization algorithm and applies this algorithm to Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) spatial data interpretation. Previous work tackling this problem using Hough transform or neural networks for identifying GPR hyperbolae are unsuitable for on-site applications owing to their computational demands and t...
متن کاملAdvanced Inversion Techniques for Ground Penetrating Radar
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) systems are nowadays standard inspection tools in several application areas, such as subsurface prospecting, civil engineering and cultural heritage monitoring. Usually, the raw output of GPR is provided as a B-scan, which has to be further processed in order to extract the needed information about the inspected scene. In this framework, inverse-scattering-based a...

متن کاملEfficient three-dimensional data inversion: Soil characterization and moisture monitoring from cross-well ground-penetrating radar at a Vermont test site
We extend our methodology for three-dimensional parameter structure and value estimation and apply it to a Vermont test site. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) cross-well travel times are inverted for estimation of heterogeneous GPR soil velocities before and after a controlled release of salt water in the unsaturated zone. The method, which is based on an approximation of the extended Kalman filt...
متن کاملFalse Alarm Reduction of Ground Penetrating Radar
In this work, we present a methodology for fusing high frequency and low frequency radar images. The goal of this system is to nd the strong surface clutter which is common to high and low frequency radar images and to subtract (defuse) this common component from the low frequency image to extract sub-surface information.
